Master of Sport Science

This programme will help students develop research skills in Sports Science. Students will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to do independent research. Students will work with a supervisor to undertake research in their chosen area.

Course Structure
The main requirement of the degree is a dissertation of not more than 60,000 words.

Candidates are also required to:

• Attend a Research Methodology course
• Present a research proposal
• Present research progress at candidature defence
• Show proof of acceptance for publication (according to the criteria set in the publication guidelines) prior to graduation 

 
Language Requirement

International students must possess at least a band 5.5 for IELTS or a score of 550 for paper-based total, a score of 213 for computer-based total or a score of 80 for internet-based total for TOEFL if they obtained their Bachelor’s degree from a university in which the medium of instruction is a language other than English.

Entry Requirement
(i) Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 3.0 and above in a relevant programme of study 

(ii) Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree with CGPA of 2.7 to 2.99 may be considered if they fulfil at least one of the following criteria: 

A. has work experience in related fields; or 
B. has publications in related fields; or 
C. is a scholarship recipient; or 
D. a graduate of the University of Malaya 
E. a government agency employee

(iii) Applicants with a Bachelor's degree with CGPA of 2.5 to 2.69 may be considered if they fulfill at least two of the criteria in (i) (A) to (D) above
